Pre- Book Review

I'm currently starting some new books.. thought I'd share with you all what I'm reading.
Let me know if you know of any great new reads, or if you're reading any of these!!

I just downloaded Jon Acuff's book Start, I'm only about a tenth of the way through and I can tell it's going to be fabulous. He works with the Dave Ramsey team and is totally hilarious and BRILLIANT! It's all about flipping the switch between an average life to an awesome life and the steps you take to get there. Not like an awesome future, but an awesome right now. Great concept, right?
I heard him speak at a new Dave Ramsey event in the fall, he's great really.
At the same time, I'm also reading his book Quitter..which is another great read about your dream job..and not quitting your current job before you get there.

Last but not least, Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst from Proverbs 31 Ministries. I'm over halfway through and I can tell you now this book is life changing. She's a mother whom seems to go through the exact things I do. Running around, kids screaming, and almost losing your ever loving mind. In the book she points out whether you're a stuffer of emotions or an exploder and how you deal with those things.  Trust me, you've got to read this if you're a lady who loves Christ.

DIY Outdoor wedding

I am just getting back to the swing of things..
In March my sister had the most FABULOUS wedding. The weather turned out perfect and we had such a great time.

She had a small budget for the wedding (small obviously could mean different things to each of us), but I wanted to show all her gorgeous ideas.
She did most everything herself and bought & rented vintage pieces.

 Her and her fiance made this stand themselves, isn't it amazing?

 

 

The florist used vintage looking flowers for all the guys. She also HANDMADE the bowties!

I LOVE this picture of the groom.

 

 

Her popcorn stand was made from an old buffet my grandma gave her.

It was a huge hit.

 

She had different "toppings" for the popcorn.

 

Her drink bar was my favorite thing. She had sweet tea, peach tea, and lemonade.

Paper birch bark straws in mason jars. People lined up for this stuff!

 

 

Each table had unique vintage bottles and books. Some with dried flowers or fresh ones.

It was so cozy in the reception.

Everyone packed the outdoor seating. She barely had enough chairs. Everyone came early and stayed late. The wedding had such a friendly atmostphere.

 

We all wore peach or navy with mint jewelry.
The best part was watching a couple who live for God unite in such a blessed union.
After the honeymoon and her moving in, I finally had time to upload a few of these pictures.

Happy Late Valentines Day

I wanted to share my Valentines with you. Don't you just LOVE little man's boots?

Our local go-to gal at Captured by Tamara (Tamara Sears) took these, she is just fab!

I was severely down with the flu this week, but my husband helped with the kids along with some grandparents and it ended nicely.
The sun is shining and the Lord was so merciful that I recovered so quickly.

I've been horrible at blogging. I love it but I've just had zero time for it lately.
I was so fortunate to be paired up with I'm sure, one of the  loveliest ladies on the entire Earth. She was so sweet from the first email I received. We quickily exchanged TONS of emails. I felt like I could share anything with her.

She seriously thought of everything. She actually cared what I was passionate about. She is such a great woman and sister in Christ. Sometimes you can just tell when someone is going to be successful in everything they do, I can tell that about her. I have found a lady friend for life with her!

Check out what she got me! So thoughtful. Each gift was individually wrapped and attached with a sweet little note. She even was considerate enough to get something I can share with the husband and little mini skateboards for my boys.
My experience was just amazing with this lady!

HAPPY 2013!

I spent the first half of this month just reevaluating certain things in my life.
Of course most people visit their fitness/health goals this time of year, which is such a great idea..if you can stick to it.
I've done moderately well, eating mostly raw produce for the majority of my meals. I absolutely love the way I feel when I eat raw and I juice a few times a week.

Another idea my family had, staying out of Walmart/Target for the next 6 months!!
Crazy huh? People look at me like I'm nuts.
Since we are building a house and cutting spending now in order to buy what we want to put in the house (new furniture) we are saving like crazy people!
I buy tons and tons of extras in these two places, so I've vowed to not step foot in them!


Anyone else make some crazy goals this year? I would love to hear them :)
